A Proven Workforce Pipeline

Pathways to Building Trades is a structured, high-impact summer program for youth in Central Iowa. In 2024 alone, 10+ students were placed into jobs or apprenticeships through the program. It combines real union engagement, technical skill-building, and wraparound support to prepare young people for careers in the trades.

Each summer, students:

Complete 120+ hours of training

Earn nationally recognized certifications

Visit 16+ union halls, job sites, and training centers

Build confidence and employability

Receive case management and mentorship

Get paid while learning valuable life and career skills
