Ramona Bates is a lifelong educator and early childhood development expert who brings a deep passion for community and equity to Forest Avenue Outreach. As Lead Teacher at Drake University Head Start, Ramona works directly with young children and families, helping to lay the foundation for lifelong learning through inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
With decades of classroom experience, Ramona is a trusted leader in early education and a fierce advocate for closing opportunity gaps from the very beginning of a child’s journey. Her commitment to nurturing potential extends beyond the classroom and into her role on the FAO board, where she champions the power of mentorship, access, and hands-on learning.
